Administrator, Marin County
Prepares the County budget and provides the Board of Supervisors with the information they need to make decisions.
Agriculture, Weights, and Measures
Promotes sustainable agriculture, a healthy environment, and consumer protection.
Assessor-Recorder-County Clerk
Assesses taxable value of property, records important legal documents, performs civil ceremonies, and applies legal exemptions.

Board of Supervisors
Passes ordinances governing the County. Adopts the budget and directs a wide variety of services. Each elected board member serves a 4 year term.

Child Support Services
Helps make sure children and families receive court-ordered financial and medical support.
Community Development Agency
Inspects restaurants, public facilities, and construction projects. Oversees permits, environmental reviews, affordable housing, and land use regulation.
County Administrator
Prepares the County budget and provides the members of the Board of Supervisors with the information they need to make decisions.
County Clerk
Issues and records many legal documents, including marriage licenses, domestic partners, business names, notary bonds, commissions and oath certificates, and more.
County Counsel
Gives legal advice and counsel to the Board of Supervisors.
Cultural Services
Runs the Marin County Fair as well as various cultural events and activities. Rents County venues for special events.

District Attorney
Promotes safety and deters crime by engaging with the community. Provides services related to gun safety, consumer protection, preventing elder abuse, and more.

Elections (Registrar of Voters)
Prepares and implements County elections and provides services to voters.
Enhanced Court Collections
Collects fines and fees as directed by the Marin County Superior Court.

Finance, Department of
Receives residents’ property taxes. Maintains the County’s debt and investments, reports cash flow and banking. Manages estates and makes final arrangements for residents who die without a will or support to resolve their estate.
Fire Department
Protects Marin residents from fires and natural disasters. Teaches fire prevention and emergency preparedness to the community.

Grand Jury
Monitors the performance of local government and makes recommendations that can save taxpayers' dollars and improve services.

Health and Human Services
Promotes and protects the health and safety of everyone in Marin. Provides services for mental health issues, substance abuse, and more.
Housing Authority
Assists low and moderate-income residents to secure and maintain high-quality affordable housing.
Human Resources
Provides and manages meaningful careers for Marin County.

Information Services and Technology
Supports County departments with accessible, high value applications and technology products and services.

Library, Marin County Free
Supports independent learning through books, study spaces, public access computers, free wireless, storytime, book clubs, and programs for children, teens and adults.

Public Defender
Provides legal services. Protects the constitutional rights of our clients while treating them with respect and encouraging them to lead productive and positive lives.
Public Works
Oversees maintenance of County roads, ramps and accessibility access, and Gnoss Field Airport. Manages waste, flooding assistance, and land use.

Recorder
Maintains a permanent public record of documents, including birth, marriages, and death certificates.
Retirement (MCERA)
Assists beneficiaries of the Marin County Employees' Retirement Association. Administers benefits and manages financials.

Sheriff
Works with the criminal justice system and the community to prevent crime and keep people in Marin safe.
Superior Court of Marin County
Supports the well-being of the community through access to justice and adhering constitutional rights. Hears family, law, probate, juvenile, criminal, small claims, and other cases.

UC Cooperative Extension
Advocates and advises on research-based initiatives related to agriculture, natural resource management, nutrition, and youth development.
